Spelling needs work, but yes I can provide a note if required. Although there is a charge for Drs notes of course.

Try finding an Estate Elite 2.2DTi - rare as rocking horse..  I'm actually now slightly sad I missed out on that one with the dead pump a week or so ago.  Especially as this higher mileage CD went for £600 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191204653926 (although that is a really nice colour..)

Hummm our Elite Estate was going to go, but I'm having second thoughts really, as the 3.2's first err proper outing in it's new role did well. But lack of boot space was apparent, even without a tank in there.

I've been looking at Zafria's and compared to the Omega, boot space is disappointing.

I also failed to spot how few decent Estates are on the market, just 15 in total on trader, just 4 Elites  :o

Ours has had in the last 24 months, new exhaust, rear SL shocks, brakes, cam covers and dis-pack. last 12 months, full set new tyres.

Of all the Omegas I've owned (thus taken on long journeys), by far the most comfortable was PFL Elite cloth :)

Boot does not appear as good as Omega Estate though, in terms of space. Zafira is taller, but can't really use the height available.

Its not. Not even close. Its an Astra-G estate, but taller.

Not much to match Omega Estate. E class maybe? RR?

Current E-class estates are significantly larger inside than the Omega, both in terms of length and usable height (as there's an extra 9" or so of depth below the false boot floor) I reckon..

As a rough guide I think the Omega had a load capacity of 540L (seats up) with the E-class at 650L, and 1000L (seats down) with the E-class at 1600L, although that last number sounds so enormous I wonder if they count the front seat area as well.

So let me sum this up:

Tunnie: my omega estate is not big enough.

Me: if an omega is not big enough, you need a van.

Tunnie: yep.

TB: no, you need a zafira.

Tunnie: Zafira is not long enough, even though it's higher.

TB: of course it's not long enough, it's an Astra G estate.

Tunnie + Me: we know, so why did you fickin suggest one then?

MrsT would not be impressed  ;)

Estate for now, little TLC and it would come up well. Propper valet and some tints in the rear windows, should suit our needs for next 12 months at least.

Due to go to Wales in August for a few days, no way could we get all out needs in the 3.2  :'(

Just been looking at old photos of the Estate, sadly it's covered in bird shite at the moment. But when polished up, it looks good and is a great load-hauler....

Anything that can take what we need, she needs a refresher course. She thought the French bit of crap we had in Dublin was a "nice car", so cars wasted on her.

She has not driven any of them yet, can't see it being a problem once she has confidence.

I can forsee a fair few long journeys 2hrs+ to Wales, Brighton, Northants ect, so keen on staying with Omega's

That was taken in 2011, so yeah a little more now. But it still comes up well though with some turtle wax wash  :y :y

Display is a bit temperamental, might have to stick something else in there at some point.  :-\

Anything other than NCDC will need some rewiring.  All CIDs are getting to the stage of being tempremental. New LCD is around £130 last time I looked.

NCDC with a GID should be reasonably readily available at around the same price, and would be plug and play, although the CDC3 may be on its last legs (as will Nav slot, but laser replacable in that)

Was thinking GID, might replace the NCDC, for some reason on 'cold start' it can take around 90 seconds for the unit to work  :-\

Loads of 3.2 Estates where I live, with GID's, CiD's Telematic's, take your pick, how many do you want.  ;)

Mine will barely play anything in any slot now (pressed CDs, not burnt) .. which is getting on my wick something chronic with no radio to go back to (after someone broke the aerial  :-[)
