Title: air mass flow meter.
Post by: GaryC2.5td on 09 June 2014, 13:16:40
Hi I have two omega B's both 2.5td one is 1995 and the other is 1996. The 1995 doesn't have an air flow meter. But the 1996 does have an air flow meter.

I'm wondering does anyone know a way to remove the air flow meter from the car for good?  it's hardly as simple as just plugging it out?

You cant but  then it does not do to much as its tehre to restrict fueling when air mass is equal to or less than that requried for the fuel which reduces the smoke out the back.

As you say the early ones didn't have a Maf, why do you want to remove the Maf on the later one?, your just end up upsetting the ECU.

Although I must admit from memory when I had a TD unplugging the Maf didn't seem to make much difference when I was fault finding an issue, but we all know its in there for a reason.

TD ones reliable enough to use one from a breaker :)
