Title: Bosses X Type - engine screwed
Post by: Martin_1962 on 16 June 2008, 20:08:04
Making a ticking noise - took it to the local mechanic - small end gone.

It would cost too much (engine out) so he is going to trade it in.

He was chatting on the phone to a potential client today - "You should get an Omega!"

I told him that that would be your advice. He wasn't too impressed when I suggested that his 3.0l Jag was a Ford Mondeo.  ;D ;D ;D

One of them started to keep pace with me yesterday, but dramatically fell away as I accelarated up.  I would have told him "get an Omega" if he had not disappeared behind me!
 ;D ;D ;D ;D

I hope he didn't blow his engine though!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

THe 3.0 is quick but I cannot get comfortable in it, the TD I know is slower than my 2.6 as I had one try it on once.

Just now wait and see what he gets

I can vouch that a 4wd 3.0 matched my MV6, but had superior cornering ability in a fast sweeper in the wet - mine went all twitchy on this very fast bend, he went round on rails and left me for dust until he hit traffic...

Aye sound about right - but he would have his stereo on to drown the rattly dash out.

I do own an X Type but also still a facelift CDX omega and theres good and bad points in both.

Omega thrashes it in interior build quality and toys.....

I think Tata will be better owners than Ford, at least the Indians understand the British.

John really wants an XF but they are too much at the moment, he was hoping the 3.0 would last long enough for the prices to fall
