Sadly, it looks like youthful exuberance got the better of them.

If we took that approach, why have "general discussion" at all.... It could all go in the general car chat board :y

I agree with the Daewoo owner. General chat is just that.......chat about anything and everything.
I don't see why certain topics should be 'off limits'.... :y

The incident is very sad and unfortunate. General chat is like a virtual pub isn't it? We should have free speech and the forum does have moderators to deal with any excesses.

:( Poor kids , alcohol and bravado never a good mix , there has been a few cases around here recently with students getting drunk and then trying to swim across rivers , sadly a few of them didn't make it , what a waste :(

Death by misadventure... a tragic, untimely loss for their parents :'( But hopefully not a waste, as their peers should be bright enough to learn from it :-\

I wish that were true. A few years back a kid got flattened titting about in the middle of the A19 dual carriageway. His mates and relatives all left their floral tributes... in the middle of the dual carriageway.
Incidentally the family blamed not the kid for running into traffic... but the council for not repairing the safety fencing that had been vandalised...

Let's not be judgemental. We were all young once & most of us have children. We have all made mistakes but not usually with fatal consequences. :(
