Title: An almighty storm here
Post by: chrisgixer on 14 June 2014, 00:48:45
Thunder and lightening every 10 seconds, right over the house. The walls are shaking in some instances. :o

Just got in as the heavens opened...

Huge swathes of lightning  8) opened a beer and the curtains to watch it...

We had a bit of thunder and lightning around 12:30 last night, along with a bit of a downpour.  Trouble is, after the storms we had in France last week, these seemed a bit mickey mouse.

However, I'm still nervious when I hear that sudden clap, followed by the ongoing rumble, as when the garage went, I was convinced it was a thunderstorm

Oooh, that's not good...

They mention Reading and Reading in that article :o this can only mean one thing...

They're two separate places ;D

Joking aside the lighting was spectacular here 8)

I suspect it got a lot worse for you to have mentioned it  ???. As I said, we only had a few decent claps of thunder and lightning, couple with a bit of a (admittedly quite heavy) rain for half an hour or so.

I imagine it strengthened as it went south, until burning out somewhere.

The storms we had over in France though, they were something else - but then I guess the heat and humidity had driven them.  I was concerned about the car one day, as the hail stones were like big marbles...  ...so I parked under a tree until it stopped ;D

Last time I looked, Europe and Europe was the same continent ::).

The ones we had in France had come from the UK...

Depends if your a Eurofile. The land of the white flag with red and blue is opps all to do with me. Or the Uk, as far as I'm concerned.

But I'm not sure these Storms have time machines or are able to be in two places at once. But I'm sure you'll have an answer for that one. ::)

Ah, I understand, we have patriotic storms that are too scared to cross the 20 miles of sea. Or is it getting stopped by the Border Agency?

Last time I looked, and until September, the Union flag is also red, white and blue ::)

So, how do you manage to be in France and Brackley at the same time...?

I'm not a meteorologist, but I believe you have more than one storm in a week.

I said we had a storm a couple of nights ago, just gone midnight, but it wasn't as impressive as a series of storms I witnessed last week in France.

I think some people need to untwist their knickers.

Ah yes, the old, your not making sense reply, after talking nonsense for the last umpteen posts ;D

You made the point that your storm in France was better than my storm here. Then said they are one and the same. So how can you be in France AND Southern England, to know your storm is better than my storm?

That omega of yours isn't that quick. Servo assisted brakes or not ;D

You got a you're-not-making-any-sense reply because you're not making any sense. I suggest a quick reread of the earlier posts. No wonder I'm confused.

Or is this just a my-knob-is-bigger-than-yours competition, in which case you win, because I'm not that fussed really, and if it makes you feel better, I'm more than delighted to have helped :y
