Title: windscreen wipers question.
Post by: Andy A on 15 June 2014, 17:41:15
Is it normal for the wipers on the Omega to go down past there park position and then come back up to park?

All other cars I have owned come down and park without going past first and then parking. There was some work done on them for the MOT before I got the car and I wondered if it was set right.

Thanks

Andy

This is off an Astra G .... but the principle is the same. The arm held by the M8 nut (13mm spanner) has moved - often due to starting wipers that are frozen to the screen, it should be sat in the middle of the 2 marks  > arm <  :y  Your's isn't. Though some here have said they've repositioned them in situ, I've removed mine to do so. Four hex headed self tappers & the whole mechanism comes out ..... be careful of the paint on top of the driver's wing  ;)

I though there was an OOF library picture  ??? :-\

What is the correct torque setting for the M8 bolt?

Will using a stainless steel nyloc nut be Ok?

Tight ..... as tight as a 6" long 13mm spanner allows using a sensible amount of leverage.  ;)

Will using a stainless steel nyloc nut be Ok?
That's what's was on my Omega for nearly 10 yrs  :y
