I got a Headlight Range warning which turns out to be the front sensor. The ball end of the arm is still secure but the sensor end is adrift from the sensor and won't stay in. Do they normally clip in or are they fixed and is there a cheap fix rather than buying a new sensor?

They just clip in but come adrift due to the ball ends seizing up.
You can try removing the ball joint section ,cleaning it up and well and greasing it to get good very free movement and then re-fit but, often the sensor end wears due to the seized ball joint and distorts so they pop out again.

Thanks for the fast reply. It seems quite free at the ball end but I'll whip it all off and have a better look later. If the wear is at the sensor end is it usually the sensor or the arm that wears and will a new arm fix it? My son is trying to get me a trade price on a sensor but even then they are horribly and ridiculously expensive. Also, not sure if I read somewhere that the wiring might be different >:(

Just get a second hand sensor, the rear ones are the same and don't tend to suffer the same issues.
