;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :y We have that brand in our Sainsbury's car park; they only charge £5 to wash my car ;)

Hand or machine polishing?
For hand polishing I'd recommend Megs 3step, but substitute the 3step wax with Nxt gen tech wax. I also like Autoglym SRP for hand polishing, but I dislike AGs sealant, so would recommend something different.
For machine polishing I'd recommend Menzerna for polishing followed by a sealant or wax of your choice.
-
It would be hand polishing for me, the 3 step would include the clay bars?
-
The 3 step system includes 1)Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner, 2) Deep Crystal Polish and 3)Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax (as mentioned I suggest replacing 3 with Nxt gen tech wax.
The clay bar is a separate step between washing and paint cleaning. I strongly recommend it.

And I thought a bit of "Fairy Liquid" in a bucket, with a sponge, followed by a rinse with the hose, then a quick chamois, finishing off with AutoGlym.. was all that was needed :(
Anyone at the Lakes giving lessons in this "black art" ???
:-/ :-/ :-/

Thats far too hard work for Ljay - she just waits till it rains, and puts some bubblebath on the roof ;D
She is the only person I know who can wash a car, and it dooks dirtier when she has finished than before she started ;D
-
Go to the Autoexpress website where they product test polishes and that will let you know the best and easiest one to use :y

Brilliant links thanks for that. :y
-
The dangers of reading those links is that you'll end up buying a polisher (or two, one DA and one rotary) and spend the rest of your money on polish and pads;)

i use autoglym super resin polish find it very easy to work with and gives a great shine 8-) 8-)
-
AG SRP works very well for hand polishing. However, it's a bit of cheating as it contains a fair amount of fillers.
-
jeffs werkstart acrylic kit is very good for dark colour cars it gives a very deep wet shiny look to it

Yes, correct but for an easy, all round finish I think that AutoGlym Super Resin Polish is hard to beat.
Sounds like Growler just wants something to give his paintwork a bit of a lift without going down the full detailing route? If so, wash WITHOUT fairy liquid, this is no good for the paintwork, tut tut! Use a decent car-wash liquid, Turtlewax 'Extreme' in the bright green bottle i've found quite good. Then finish the srp by hand. Dress the tyres with the Autoglym tyre dressing as well :y

i would also advise using a wash mitt instead of a sponge to aviod scratching the paintwork, and also have a second bucket filled with warm plain water and use this to rinse the mitt after every pannel has been washed( you'll be amazed to see how dirty the second bucket gets)
