Title: Luis 'Hannibal' Suarez
Post by: Lagondanet on 25 June 2014, 10:50:03
To bite or not to bite? That is the question.

He fell into my face M'Lud.

Biting, butting, tripping, kicking, spitting, swearing, pulling, diving, cheating and moaning. Is that football? The Beautiful Game?

 :(

The man needs help. the last time I bit someone I was 5 years old.

Suarez is 27. He should have grown out of it by now.

Therapy required to get to the root cause of his problem.

If FIFA let it go unpunished, then it would appear yes. If has banned, then no. Which he damn well should be.

With his talent for the game he could run the team without touching anyone.

If found guilty, he should face a season long ban, but with all the antics in football I will reserve judgement until all the evidence has been gathered and chewed over. ::) ::) ::)

So this is the example he sets to the younger people, bite people to get what he wants,he should be banned from playing any sport for life,or if he cant behave in public, put him in a stray jacket and mask in a padded cell  ;D

Spot on there Nige  :y

Nickolas Bendtner was fined £80,000 under some dodgy advertising rule for wearing a pair of boxer shorts with his sponsor, Paddy Power on the label and letting camera see the top of them during euro 2012  ::) >:(

The Uruguayans' reaction to all this is unbelievable. They think it's all a big European plot.

After beating England, Suarez was quoted saying "People in England have laughed about my attitude, but I would love to see what they are saying now."

I know he's got a screw loose but is he really under the impression it's his ability that's in question? Not the fact he'd already bitten two people in the past, become notorious for cheating and been done for (in the eyes of the F.A) for racism?

Did he think that would really change because he performed well in a match against England?

The guy is making a living in this country but seems to be spiteful and even resentful towards us. I'd deport the bastid quick time because the screwed up way he is thinking, he will be radicalised by the scouse branch of the Islamic fundamentalists  >:( >:( >:(

If Liverpool do get rid, expect to see him fighting on the streets of Bagdad next week wearing a ISIS shirt  ;D ;D ;D

Look at it from another point of view, perhaps biting, gouging and physical violence would improve the spectator value. So no fouls, no free kicks or penalties and no substitutes, then the prima donnas would earn their inflated salaries. ::) :D ;D

I would have banned him for life.

Where does it say it is alright to bite another player? Totally and utterly unacceptable

More importantly what message does it send out to his 100,000's of fans?

I am afraid BIG business has got in the way of justice.

Was thinking two year ban.

Is it me or has the whole Brazil World Cup been way to lenient. Compared to what we see here in Europe at least. Seems to me they've let so many fouls go unpunished. Offences that would see a straight red in Europe.

As a serial offender that has not learn't the lessons from his previous bans, I think this one has been unduly lenient.

Seeing as it is South America, a tank, a few Piranhas and Suarez comes to mind as a cure. ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D

Hmmn. Cantona gets a nine month ban for kicking racism out of football, Ferdinand gets eight months for skipping a drugs test. But they see fit to give Suarez a four month ban that starts well outside of the domestic season?

FIFA are so corrupt it's unreal. Jokers.

The flip side is that euro footie (what used to be a contact sport) has turned into dramatics - get in the box, fall over, get a penalty. To me, that's putting me off the sport. Obviously, you can't have stamping, biting or punching, but a bit or argy bargy to get the ball seems fair to me.

As a nipper, how many games did you watch (either on the 3 channels, or at various grounds), how many penalties were awarded? It was "news" when one was, and always a topic of conversation at school on a Monday had one been awarded in the top 2 divisions. Now it seems every premiership game has at least one penalty :(

Or a string of penalties after a boring draw.

Listen Mary. ;D

I'm not getting into one side or the other. My point is, it's not consistent. Which covers all points and sides you care to mention. :P
