Title: glove box repair

How do I open the glove box when the handle has come off there is a toggle bit inside the body of the lock mechanism can this be moved in some direction to get the door open so that a repair can  be done

Key blade or similar on top of the tab and push down iirc :y

If you still have the handle refit as best you can and carefully use it as designed :y it will fall off again, but the design isn't complicated...

I have been driving round for a year now using my index finger in the hole to open the glove box.

I have been using my thumb but having purchased a new handle I have to be brave an put it in.

I'm just about to order a new one from dealer, pulled everything apart as per guide, fairly straight forward.
Hope it all goes back together ok.
Seems to be a common failure.

The pins and their location on the handle wear over time, and eventually the handle comes loose. This then strains the hinges futher and eventually they break. Happens readily enough on the driverside one too... :y
