I was in England at Scarborough last Saturday. Bad timing!
I would have liked to see the Vulcan power its way across the South Bay today. Beautiful setting.
Brief clip here http://www.thescarboroughnews.co.uk/video/News/vulcan-arrives-in-scarborough-3648643225001
Anyone see it anywhere else?

At the Goodwood revival about 4 years ago.
They flew it at low level above the finish straight, and powered away to the East. Made the ground shake from several miles away. Astonishing bit of kit; you certainly wouldn't want one pointed in your direction!

Vulcan. What a plane! I remember seeing them as a kid when I lived near Newcastle, in the 60's? Any opportunity to see the one? left flying should be taken if possible. :y

A good display at the Farnborough Air Show in July 2008. You didn't so much hear the noise as it took off, but felt it where your whole chest vibrated. So enjoy the visual feast of the photographs taken on the day.

I remember seeing one of these beasts at southend airshow many years ago. The noise was out of this world and I remember it on its side almost with the bomb bay doors open and you could see inside :y
I think there used to be one at southend airport but a non flying one. Don't know if it is still there or not? :)
Nice pics btw :y

Yep, I remember them too at the Farnborough Air show...............................the trouble, or great thing is though, it was in 1958!! :D :D :D
At the same time I saw, as a five year old, other V bombers, Lightning, Vampire, Javelin and other fighters, plus the Black Arrows RAF jet formation flying display team. I was at the time staying at an Aunties who had bought a new bungalow in Fleet, so everyday day the Air Show was on I got a free view of everything flying, plus a cousin took me for a day at the show itself. Wonderful memories, and my first real look at the big jets of the time!! 8) 8) 8) 8) :y :y
Of the Vulcan though probably the best memory I have was of three of them taking off from Luqa airfield, as viewed from the RAF control tower, in 1963 and one returning with a problem with it's bomb bay doors in which, I was told, a hydrogen bomb was held so it was an emergency situation! All was well though in the end, and I had had the treat of my aviation interest in life! :y :y :y

I see the Vulcan down at the manston air show 2 years ago...amazing bit of equipment and the pictures do not do it justice as it is a very big bird and the noise it makes is second to none :y
