Title: car mats
Post by: peter the butcher on 30 June 2014, 17:08:07
I know its not the usual mechanical problem,,,,, but I am looking for some genuine omega car mats. The ones I have now, have the logo, Omega, embroidered on, and look better to me, than just a plain example. I am not made of money  ;D, so If the genuine ones are stupid money, will look at alternative options. Lets face it, they are just foot mats :)

Managed to find a set at LKF about 8 months ago and they were about £65 for the 4  :o

Only the drivers front had the 2 cut outs for the plastic screws that hold them to the original carpet, which I thought strange as my Elite has the fixings in the original carpets in all 4 footwells.

You will have to wait for Amba to enlighten you on that .  Guessing that it's a local (to him) VX  main dealer  :-\ :-\ :-\

Thanks Keith B, but only really need the drivers one, but would purchase all 4 together. Will just go down the ordinary mat route now, as biggriffin has said, they are like rocking horse ****   ;D

Sorry to confuse the isssue with "LKF"...was going from memory ,which is not wise now as age and red wine have caused it to become slightly disjointed from reality   ;D :D ;D

Just found the old receipt and it was infact LMF and bought them last October at £66=87 delivered ,although they did quote they had them in stock which was incorrect as took a further 4 weeks to arrive :o

Shame it's only the drivers one which wears through too. Usually others are spotless!  :(

When I got my car eleven years ago it was winter, so I put another mat over the Omega drivers mat to protect it.  ::)
It is still in there now so mine are all fine.  :y Sort of defeats the object of having the proper mats.  ;D

I know, the back ones do not have a mark on them, and the passengers gets a set of shoes on twice a month

I wondered if we could just get some made. Just the drivers one. Send an old one off and get them to match it. Preferably from something more durable too.

Or get a sheet of Velcro and stick the hooks half over the top to protect the ones we have before its too late.

Did consider putting patch on the pedal area, but as it's rubber backed, very difficult to do DIY.

Be interesting to see what price on a bulk order, have to be a good match though for colour/style exactly
