Hey guys just a quick question, I bought a mega v6 2.5 a few months back but the clutch went, just managed to get it In to the garage, but when I tried to get her started on Sunday nothing battery was flat so got it on jump leads and left it awhile, went to start it and nothing just turned over didn't even sound like it wanted to start..I have been reading up and I suspect it maybe the crankshaft pulse sensor.
Any how need the car sorted but read thy you could end up buying the wrong sensor so what one is the right one for my R reg car. Any help needed would be a god send.

Can't do paper clip test because cars in garage, will try have a look tomorrow...I can't see it been anything else other than the sensor just too many things that it's doing so it sounds like that problem

Fair enough. Give it a go and post any codes on here. Someone will be along to help. :y

hi, i am no expert, but from my experience if you are jumping it with cheap jump leads, then becoz the engine takes all the power to crank your left with a very weak spark or none at all, charge battery fully then give it a go, becoz its odd it was running when you left it, just an idea worth a try, hope you get it sorted.

where all else fails use logic, starting with the simple and move on to the more complex, :y

Garage had it on charger and also booster pack and they couldn't get it started, I've managed to get a sensor from gsf for £21 so I will get it fitted today and see if that works, plus it's worth getting changed anyway if they are as common as I've read

they are common, had 1 on mine last month. :y

She's running again at last, it was the crank sensor...had to get one from main dealer at a cost of £62 because the one that GSF sold me was too short.

Pattern crank sensors either don't work or pack up very quickly - genuine GM only - have a read through other posts on here on that topic - would have saved you the cost of a £21 unsuitable crank sensor ;)

It's still in the plastic packet so it's getting taken back tomorrow, at least the car is back working now
