Title: steering idler centre link info please.

As I had an advisory on my MOT I thought I would try & get a good 2nd hand one as money is tight & fit it, Anyhow I got one complete with all the track rods etc so have stripped it down for the centre link, The thing is one of the ball joints on it seems to stay in an upright position with no side to side movement but turns freely in its socket but the other will move in all directions like a track rod end would, Are these centre links fitted with two types of ball joint or is one of them knackered?. :-\

I think one should spin and other like a ball joint. Thought that to til i replaced mines

Cheers Davie :y, I thought it odd as i got it off a low mileage 03 plate so it should be o,k, Just a shame the Haynes book of lies don't mention it. >:(

I tried to make my last one move like ball joint. Hence why i had to get another one :-[
