Title: coil pack pinout? (Anyone with an aftermarked ECU?)
Post by: Andy89 on 12 July 2014, 16:47:38
Hi

Does anyone know which pin on the connector, goes to which coil outlet?
It's a 3.0l engine from 98

Looks like pin 4 is the supply, the other 3 returning to the ecu to be earthed when spark reqd.

The thing I'm wondering about is what outlet on the coil is driven by 1,2 and 3
So I get the correct firing order

I should imagine that one earth wire drops two coil connections ( wasted spark) so should not be too difficult to work out with a bit of on the bench fiddling.

firing order 1 2 3 4 5 6 no 1 being drivers front.

edit, one cylinder on fire stroke, the other wasted cylinder on the exhaust stroke, im sure someone will know.

Would it be possible to measure somehow?
Haven't had a chance to look at it in the garage yet, so haven't tried.
