Cannot open the door and cannot remove the trim to check for broken linkage. Any ideas where a hole can be drilled through the trim to the lock where with suitable "tools" the door can be unlocked.
I am prepared to ruin the trim if need be. I am sure this problem has occurred before to other owners.

Drop the window, then pull the button up with molegrips or similar, then open the door :y
Replace or repair the drivers door central locking motor as per the guide :y

Have you tried the key in the lock? You do need to force it over to 90degrees, and button may not pop up, but the door should open.

Thank you for the advice. The central locking is all working OK but it appears that a link has come adrift as the inner and outer handles seem OK. Something has disconnected from the lock assembly.
