Title: Strange humming noise
Post by: Andy663 on 26 July 2014, 13:35:48
Whilst driving above 30mph I can hear a low humming/droning noise coming from the rear, it seems to disappear when I turn to the right. There's no abnormal heat being generated in the wheels, any ideas?

Does sound like the beginning of wheel bearing failure :-\

I'll try packing it with grease, will a good mult-purpose Lithium based grease be okay or will I need a grease specifically for wheel bearings?

Rear wheel bearings are sealed and are not greasable.
Replacement is the only cure, and a lot of people make a meal out of it.
