hi all am new to this site and hoping someone can help !! i have a 2002 2.2 omega auto. recently having probs with autobox. problem is when starting from cold if choke automatically goes off after about 10 secs then all is fine however if choke stays on and i blip the throttle to knock it off then it sticks in first gear until 20-30 mph after that all is fine !! :) has anybody else had this prob ? mileage is 91500 thanks

Auto's always hold onto first gear for a little longer when the engine is cold ..... it helps get the car to temp faster for emissions etc

thanks for reply, however i have had the car just over a year now and this prob has only happened over last few weeks. recently changed crank sensor after starting issues thats all sorted but now this new prob. new crank sensor was a cheap part is there any chance thats something to do with my current prob ?

hi i have a 2.2 petrol outo had it for 3 months and last few weeks its been doing the exact same thing. i think i may be the extrem temps at mo or somthing. how ever they do hold the first gear to warm up cat quicker that is normal. but if you rev it to 2 thousnd revs for a minuet it seems to cure it or im told if you pull of in sports mode. but dont wory it is norm :y

PS; Who decided you needed a new crank sensor :-\
