Very much so.
Sussed out the handbrake was slightly wrogly adjusted on one side, but passed no probs, thought the brakes were a bit weak, but hit decent digits on the meter, he picked up on the fact the car had been stood a while, and said the brakes will keep improving, which they are doing, (have only done 300 miles since I bought it)
So well chuffed. (see question in Omega chat in a few mins)

Used ebay with great success till last year bought a cd player for my Omega 2,0 he was a thief no cd player ever arrived went to paypal they as bad stuffed me for £15 out of the £50 i paid for cd player (hidden charges) that you never hear about till you need help !! I then gave the guy a neg feedback as he never sent it, then got loads of abusive feedback from him OMG ! so jacked in the accounts, but a year later opened a new one so back on ebay have to admit so far so good but your right there is some crooks & too many dealer types asking more than shop prices for stuff ...Crazzzy !

I've been using e-bay for years with only a late delivery to moan about...
untill yesterday when the item i bought through ebay from a member of this very forum arrived :o
now i won't name this person because they know who they are but needless to say i was absolutely gutted when an item which was described as "Excellent clean example .... no visable damage" arrived in p1ss poor condition >:(.
Not due to damage in transit as it was very well wrapped but due to an accident of some sort while still on the donor car (badly rusted around damage to show age of damage)
I've contacted the seller who was "very very angry" at my tone (excuse me!!! :-?) and i have started a dispute which is pointless as the item must be returned to claim a refund and the postage is more than the item is worth ::)!
Very dissapointed that a fellow member of this fine forum could falsely describe an item and then hide behind paypal rules.
i really don't know what else to say :-/ apart from i'm still astounded

2001 CDX with 96,000 in very good nick £520 :y
I have used Ebay countless time, tonight i had a brand new motorola phone a Kenwood DNX5220 stereo and a bluetooth unit arrive.
My LPG kit came from Ebay and i bought and sold my Alfa Romeo on there as well.
You have to use care, my wife has been done over with fake goods that we are disputing with paypal currently, but on the whole its not a bad way to save money.
I do NOT agree that paypal and ebay should be owned and regulated by the same company, there is an ethical issue there i feel and they should be separated, but that's a different issue

Ebay/paypal "rules" differ from UK Trading standards here, in that Trading standards rules say goods must be 'as described'. If they are not, then they theoretically didn't arrive, and you can claim as such. paypal might not mention it widely, but they are still signed up to the FSA rules, and as such you can still complain to the Financial Ombudsmen. I got stung by a crook who sent the wrong item, and Paypal wanted me to send it back, recorded delivery. 80p post for an item costing £2.75 ? No Way. I mentioned to them that I was "disappointed" in their decision, and if I was not refunded, I would complain to the Financial Ombudsmen. A refund arrived later from them, although the crook still got off with it. Trouble is Paypal/Ebay work on acceptable losses, eg if they only have to pay out 1% of the time, then that's acceptable and they won't change the rules. However these people work statisticaly. If they get lots of claims, and it costs them lots of money, which they pay cause the FSA might interfere with their taking money in the UK, then they might change their rules. I agree things are going crazy at present with the new rules, a new man is in charge, no his name isn't Bush, but its getting significantly worse. Just asking for a new outfit to move in and offer a safe trading environment. Has TB's server got any spare capacity ?. ;D ;D ;D

I must be honest and say I've been very lucky with ebay. I've even bought the last 4 cars for our household through there and been OK!!!
As for the member who's sold you something duff... I would like to think that he'd refund such a small amount as a gesture of good will???

doesn't get my hard earned back though Pete >:(
Cant you put in a dispute and get a refund from paypal.? :y
You can Phil, but under egay rules i think you have to return the goods to get a refund exluding postage.
why the opps am i going to spend £10 to post an item that i might get refunded £12 for??? >:(
Only thing to do is leave negative feedback...which didn't go down to well :P
Has TB's server got any spare capacity ?. ;D ;D ;D
Ken
could be why ebay have the same complaint proess for didn't arrive as wrongly described?
which is a pain because to lodge a complaint that an item was wrongly described means you have to wait till 10days after transaction to give the item time to arrive ?:o??
which incidently is tomorrow ;)
