hi chaps,

i am having trouble removing my stereo, tried it with the pins it wont budge

even went to halfords they had no luck, has any of you got any suggestions.  :-\

it wont budge whats the worst, by that if i bust it how replacable is it with another 1  :'(

Sometimes they stick like brown stuff to a blanket. You'll need to push the pins in hard then pull the pins outwards as you pull out.

Theres is a big chance that you will pull the front of the HU off though. If its a pre facelift car then a new HU can be obtained from Halfords, if its later face life then it might be harder to find

Tried that Andy, even took the switches out to try and persuade it from the sides whilst spreading and pulling the pins...

Nothing, nada, zip. :-\ Which is how Helfrods got a go... I didn't fancy forcing it :-[

I should add that the pins were pulled with enough force for them to pull out past the locks, inspite of the sideways load on them...

Is there any mileage in pushing and holding the radio into the dash as the pins are inserted?

Just incase the tabs have dug into the cage :-\

I've never got one out in one piece usually resort to taking the cage out but then there's the prob of getting the plug out the back

just went to a proper car stereo place today, was goin to get them to fix the volume knob its a little ify. but even they had no luck getting it out any 1 got a pik axe handy  :'(

Sadly not, it's fitted from the rear of the trim :'(
