Title: New job
Post by: omegod on 09 August 2014, 18:36:24
Some may recall I was looking for a new direction job wise after 18 yrs supporting people with drug problems, far too stressful! Well I got made redundant this week and have just got a start date in the local Jaguar/land rover factory making the new discovery sport. It's only agency for the first year and then a possible contract. Never worked in a factory before but hopefully it will be ok.

10,000 applicants for 250 jobs and it was a very thorough recruitment process indeed with online psychometric, manual assessment at the factory and a very lengthy interview so quite pleased with myself really :)

Well done you OMG, it seems to be much more common these days for people to completely change careers. The jury is still out on whether I was lucky or unlucky staying in - more or less - the same career throughout. :-\
