Bose amp shelf has been removed. Amp is in the first aid cage. Lost connection from Bose amp?
As of now;
Adjust the fade to the front, no, or very little sound at all. Some to ticking from front.
Adjust the fade to the rear, there is sound, but its a bit tinny and empty. No nav voice.
Start of journey, only nav voice from front drivers door. Hit a bump. No nav voice. So its degraded. Hoping loose connection...? :-\ :(

Should add, this is not a standard install. There is a Modulator. A Nokia blutooth car kit. and a mixer to allow telematics and bt car kit to work together. Plus the telematics is in the boot but presume that's unrelated.
-
Its going to be virtually impossible to get advice over a forum for a customised non standard installation
All I can suggest is check every connector and every circuit board for joints
:'(
-
First question is: Did it all work after the changes were made?
Second question: If you disconnect the telematics, bluetooth kit, etc. from the head unit, does it work?
-
Changes been in place for well over a year. Probably two.
Bt kit is via the standard phone line in connector. Telematics was part of the original or kit, just with a linger loom.
I have tested the audio of these functions though. This was cd and radio sources.
-
I have a 2013 head unit I could plug in to replace the 2015. It won't be paired obviously but would it give audio to test all speakers. I think it would from memory...?
-
The issue in my mind is that the various car kits could be holding the radio muted in some way - so if you can disconnect them it would help.
-
Does the Phone Line In and Sat Voice get fed to anything other than the Front Speakers?, would kind of make design sense, why would you wanna feed a Telephone conversation to the rear door Twiddlers and rear Subs. I could check later'ish or tomorrow)
I would start at the kick panel, Amp in and then Amp to speakers all happens there, or you could diss the plug, measure the front speaker loom resistance and then measure for some resistance (rather than O/C) to HU Front speaker out and Amp Front in and out. Strange that both L and R would go though.
-
Order of failure.
No music to front speakers. Leaving nav voice only from drivers door.
Press bottom left button on steering wheel to repeat command, just fades out music from rear speakers, no more voice.
Turn volume up gives a slight ticking and very slight hiss from front speakers.
What concerns me is the music was absent from front but voice was present. Therefore speakers connected. So suspect head unit. Not that I know what I'm talking about with these.
-
IIRC, everything connected to this HU is via the aux in (phone input) or FM aerial.
As bizarre as it sounds, it matches the symptoms of failing front speakers. But could be amp or HU. Given the amp's relocation, it hasn't become partially unplugged?
-
Id check all connections first and the go from there before starting to swap out H/U's that aren't paired etc...
-
10 out of 10 to TB. Blue amp plug at an angle. Just been out and checked. Pressed it back in. Front speakers working as normal.
That's a relief, I was worried the HU had gone loopy.
-
Phew. I had visions of trying to get the HU pushed back in, and came out in a cold sweat ;D
-
All sorted is that blue plug meant to have a clip?
-
Hooks in one end IIRC

I have a vague recollection of something going ping when I undid it, in order to remove the Bose shelf. :(
-
A string of cable ties around the amp, running through the wires as they exit the plug. Should hold it securely in place :y

Hay hay hay! This is an Elite we're talking about. Elites don't do twigs and bailing twine, or gaffer tape and cable ties to hold the universe together! Oh no!
Elites have the proper part replaced. [posh voice on] don't ya know [posh voice off]
....unless its a right pita or very expensive of course, then "alternative arrangement" MIGHT be sort. Young man! A cable tie indeed HAH ::)
;D ;D ;D ;) :y

If it stops it coming undone every time you
hoon it around corner gently... ::)

Ah, but its how its hooned. There's hooning, and there's hooning. A tweaked Elite hoones, rather than hoones. Obviously. ;) ;D
No I've no idea what I'm on about either ;D
-
Just pop some cable ties around it and it won't fall out, no matter how slowly you drive :y

I'd rather fix the clip. Probably not possible without un picking all those pins though. :(

Think of it as an alternative solution rather than a bodge :y afterall, it's not like you can see it...

I think you may change your mind and resort to cable tied, or tiny blob of glue.
