So sorry for you! :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
Another one gone >:( >:(

Oh no. :(
Lorry drivers perhaps. Looks like a tricky repair on the rear wing. :(
-
I don't know what to say! Don't know whether to be >:( or :'(
I know what I'll be saying (or doing) to the pr&^k that did it, if I manage to find out who it was. >:(
-
So sorry for you! :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
Another one gone >:( >:(
Thanks Lizzie, it is a shame as it really was a nice example. :'(
-
Oh no. :(
Lorry drivers perhaps. Looks like a tricky repair on the rear wing. :(
Yea, I think the rear wing really tells the future of the car. :(
-
I was waiting for the pics too what a shame looks like it was a lovley car it does look like it's been hit by a truck of some kind would have made a fair old noise looking at the impact
-
what a shame so sorry for you :'(.
-
That's a real shame looked a very nice car :(
-
Very sorry >:( to see that Chris.
-
That's an absolute bastard! :( Whoever did it deserves to be strung up by their delicate bits! >:(
-
Bastards......no note left under the wiper?
-
...or anyway of tracking the bastid down?
-
Real shame that mate - so sorry for you - looked like a good clean example. Wish you luck in finding the pratt that did it - probably a truck by the extent of the damage.
-
Oh no. :(
Lorry drivers perhaps. Looks like a tricky repair on the rear wing. :(
Yea, I think the rear wing really tells the future of the car. :(
Might be worth a word with Robseymv6 as he's replaced a rear wing on an Estate iirc. Involved cutting and welding/spot welding, while supporting the roof of the car.
Might well be worth buying it back if its written off...? Either for repair or parts.
Dont let them take it off you though. Either for storage or any other reason. Bad things happen in storage, either further damage, bits go missing, or it's not unknown for them to loose the car altogether. :o
-
That is horrendous. :( :(
-
Bastards......no note left under the wiper?
Nope, checked with Neighbours where the car was parked, nothing.
...or anyway of tracking the bastid down?
Probably not.
There was a silver wing mirror cover (not mine) that someone had left on my windscreen (probably thinking it belonged to me) no idea of the make, I'll post up some pics of it, and see if anyone on here can recognize the make of car?
Took the Mirror cover to the Plod Shop, not interested, more interested in me and producing all my documents to make sure everything is legal with me and the car, despite a quick Vehicle Index Check would have shown all was in order.
-
Gutted for you Zirk, Looked a fine clean example an all :'(
Someone must have seen something, Just keeping their lips sealed >:(
-
That's shocking :'(
-

Typical. I've had the same from them. Go there to report a hit and run and they'll have a go at pinning something on the guy standing before them, who's already got enough to worry about, before getting off their @rse and finding the real criminal. >:(
Really sorry to hear this, and I hope you find the ******. :'(

If only George Dixon was still pounding the beat, he would have 'collared' the culprit by now ;)
-
Readily repairable if you can do most of the work stripping and refitting after :y
Pretty effective way to ruin your week though :-\
-
Bit of bad luck there Chris :(
Suppose it`s break time now then
-
no cctv around there? sods law says doubt it when something like this happens, beggars belief how they just drive away after causing so much damage and no witnesses leave you their reg number/details of vehicle eighther cracks me up this country sometimes!
-

Suppose it`s break time now then
Could be looking that way Rob, 50 50 on that one at the moment, still kinda early days yet. :-\
Thing that really pisses me off is the effort, time and money spent bringing this little beauty up and ready for a new home for someone. :'(
-
That would of made a hell of a noise scraping that :-\ Sorry to see this mate :(
-

I had CCTV footage. Plod still not interested because, although it shows the vehicle registration, registered keeper denies responsibility and the CCTV doesn't show who's driving. (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/26795734/Smilies/banghead.gif)
It must be marvellous being a criminal these days. Seems the law is stacked in your favour at every turn. >:(

Useless articles police are on the whole when you actually need them, It feels like most of the time they are just after your money. >:(
Boy racers that can do as they please with cars they don't have to worry about spending a penny on...
-
............

Sorry to see that damage, annoying comes nowhere near. >:(
My son suffered the same treatment from the Police, even though the lorry was still in the vicinity. They lost any chance of catching the driver by checking my sons documents. Thankfully my sons dash cam had filmed it, but the Police were still not interested. The company denied any wrong doing until the insurance company loss chasers challenged them with the footage. :y They then paid out in full to the insurance company and my sons insurance was re-adjusted back to lower risk. That's the short version, it was a bit more complex in reality. ::)
I sent a snotty letter off to the Police thanking them for being so helpful...... not. >:(
-
:o :o :o gutted for you Chris . . . typical of this country nowadays . . .
surely someone must have seen or heard that happen
But no one wants to get involved . . . mainly because of the hastle they get from the police .
So sorry for you mate . . . looked a real lovely car :( :( :(
-
i'm furking livid…… >:( :-[ :-X :'(
(i had decided to buy it…… without photos…… spent this morning emptying the back of the sofa for a deposit….. )
ARGGHHHHHH
i better find bloody push bike then
(seriously, the mv6 is not long for this world)
-
Really sorry to see this. The amount of people who do this is unbelievable. I've been hit twice in the supermarket with no notes left. nowhere near as bad as this >:( >:( >:( >:(
-
FFS, i've just seen this >:(
No words other then dismember the bastard if you ever get wind of who did this >:( >:( >:(
-
I'm really sorry to see the mess made of your lovely Omega Chris :'(
Unfortunately it's a sign of the times, there are very few honest people around these days and the police don't want to know unless they can catch the culprit red handed, it's too time consuming and less chance of meeting their targets >:(
-
sorry to see that.. :(
although costly and requires some serious pro work , can be repaired.. both panels must be changed.. if you prefer to..
and matching the color is also not that easy..
-
Sorry to see what has happened to a lovely car. :'( What a 'see you next tuesday' that has done this and just driven off. >:( >:( >:( >:( Makes my blood boil. >:( >:( >:( >:(
-
What an absolute bastard leaving your car like that without a note. >:(
Very sorry for you! Hope the idiot can be traced somehow, but still that does not undo the damage to the car.
-
That is shocking for you :o
Is the position of the car in the pics the same position when it was clouted ???
If so, from the one way arrow; I`d say it was reversed into by something heavy.
I see the bins are out, wasn`t a bin day was it ??? A lazy bin-lorry driver backing up a one way street maybe. Call the local council & check if any of their drivers have filed a collision report. Years ago I worked for the local city council & we were told if a stationary vehicle was hit & if no one was around, then just file a report. We were told never to admit liability & only call the cops if someone was injured.

Car was parked elsewhere when it happened, in a quieter 2 way Street, I actually drove the Car to the Plod Shop, then gave up and parked about a 5 min walk away as couldn't find anywhere to park near the Shop. That's where I decided to take some Pics.
-
What a sad ,sad sight to see . It looks such a lovely car .
I can only " think " what I would feel like if it happened to me .
Little consolation Chris , but I do hope you manage to find out who the culprit was/is .
Good luck .
Don

Got to ask. Will you be breaking it,

What a shame, I am really sorry for you Chris. Very disappointing that no-one claims to have seen or heard it happen. >:( >:( >:(

Cars not going anywhere Chris. It belongs to me, moi, mine.
Im not convinced an insurance claim is financially viable tbh, no third party to claim against means me paying my excess, losing my NCB, then paying for the repair / them getting there money back in increased premiums over the next few years :(
Car is effectively a Write Off, due to its age, so it will end up as a Cat something if if done though insurance, devauling it even further. >:(
Otherwise known as a Lose, Lose and Lose situation.

Changing the damaged doors and wing is no different to someone changing them because they're rusty imho. No reason why, if the repair is half decent that the value should change at all... especially if not done through insurers :-\

Agreed Al, if I do the work myself (which I dont have the facilities to do) or source parts, do some myself then have it finished in a Shop.
Unfortunately, Ive had a local quote for both options, first option was a non starter, second was doable, me finding replacement Door and sourcing a rear new panel (as we discussed) and letting the Body Shop to finish off. Biggest cost being the Panel and Man Hours for the Shop to repair and then blowing the side of the car to match the paint job.
The second option is doable if I was to decide to keep and drive the car myself, but means I'd be driving around in a car I paid more for than what its worth.
-
Do you have trailer facilities?
Basically if you can drive the car here, I can strip the rear wing for a modest fee, then you can drag it to your friendly body shop to get the welding done... (might have a plan for the welding :-\)
Unfortunately the chap who did mine no longer does bodywork as a life time of it has killed his lungs :'(
-
Do you have trailer facilities?
No, well not without hiring one.

See my last edit... if the wing can be removed and replaced here, then your looking at driving the car both ways :y

a 100% match for color is very hard (requires many trials painted on a test card with clear coat) but blending the color coat (with a close color match) on the front door half will be practical and very hard to see even for a trained eye..
if I were you I would repair it.. because its a slow speed damage.. I dont think there is problem on the main chasis rails..
edit : I re-check the car picture and front left wing and front door color is already different.. so its better you paint the whole side :y

Ok Al, appreciate that, could be an option, I'll give you a shout later and we can crunch some numbers. ;)

The car is on its original Panels and Paint, so will look again as to different shades :-\, but yes, You, Me and the Body Shop Man are in agreement probably easier to blow the whole side in while the Guns out, just means a tad more expensive and prep work but it gets done properly.
Question for me, is do I throw in the towel now and cut my losses, the car was a project, a new home for someone, vs whats it worth in bits? and get some money back on her. :-\

Thing is Chris,do you feel up to taking it on, as it might end up you chasing your tail a bit, and have you got the time/money etc to commit to what really is a bit of a project now. For me I would take Al up on his offer and would enjoy the logistical side of getting the parts together and spending the time trying to make it happen.IMHO if the car was up for sale and IF I hadn't spent a shed load of money on the cars that I already have this year, then for me it would be a no brainer :-\ PPS don't anyone tell SWMBO about this post :-X

As much as I would like to take up Al's kind offer, doing the numbers its just not viable Im afraid Ken, in the real world, even buying Doors, Rear Panel myself, then off to the Body Shop basically means not much change out of a grand. :(

Are you in a rush?, the car is still quiet driveable, so with Tax and Test still on it I'll probably be doing the inside first, then the outside closer to its RIP.
I'll post up in the Parts section in due course. ;)

Well thanks All for your kind comments and thoughts, just need to ask one more favor, have posted some pics up of the left over wing mirror in another Thread.
Have a quick butchers for me and see if you can recognize the Vehicle make from it, pics here -
