Title: weird central locking "fault"
Post by: tidla on 16 August 2014, 20:30:41
Out onto the drive way, unlock the car using the remote unlocking, no problems.

Park outside a certain local shop and no locking on the remote control. Have to use the old fashioned way.

Anywhere else other than this local shop (three visits now) no problem??

Fitted a new battery just to make sure i wasn't going mad.

Some weird interference like what used to occur with some Renaults?

Likely something in that location interfering with your fob transmission  ;)

Is there a new mobile phone mast? Mobile phone masts have been known to cause issue due to the power levels they transmit or even tetra masts.

Remember, the receiver for the central locking is located down in the drivers kickwell (revised models anyway) , holding the remote over the windscreen (Unless its a metalized windscreen) or from the passenger window might help get a signal through.

kind of gathered that. the question is, out of curiosity more then a solid answer, what is it.

as for the post after/before this, no new mobile phone mast as such.
