Sometimes reading this forum can be really depressing with all the things than can go wrong with Omegas and numerous tales of woe. Crank sensors, wishbones, coil packs, whatever, and a zillion other things that I don't understand.
What I do understand, is that during 2014 I've moved from London to West Wales but still need to be in London a lot for work. This has involved lots of thumping up and down the M4 (235 miles each way) once a week or more transporting stuff but sometimes just me, and attempting to consume the entire oil reserves of Saudi Arabia in the process ! My point is that the MV6 has just taken it all in its stride and truly earned its keep :y
. . . . . am I tempting fate here ???

Only if you wash it... ;D

Not really, Mr Rog. The Omega is just as reliable as your average Mercedes, BMW and Audi........if not as good as most 'Nip' produced cars.

They do love a bit of distance work :y
Just keep an hbv and a crank sensor tucked away in the boot just in case. ;)

Ah yes of course, silly me ??? So, yet another thing that I've never heard of for me to worry about failing :(
I have a question: Should I get a bigger car to carry all the "just in case" spares ;D At present I have nothing at all, mainly because I wouln't have a clue about fitting any of them ::)

Quite a few things you wouldn't want to know about fitting them ::) Although a big swear box does help if your short tempered ::)

Thing is mate, on a forum with help sections you're only ever going to see people who need just that... help :y
I love owning mine. I'd hate to own a Peugeot. Being a passenger in one raises my blood pressure >:(
E.g.
Wife's 206.... SRS light, ABS light, door's breaked, leaks water in to both footwells when it's been raining, severe clutch judder and brake squeal.
Who's gonna fix it? Yup. Me. And they're only second in ''shittest cars to work on'' to Citroen

Just the crank sensor worth carrying. HBV coolant leaks are normally slow enough to "get you home" with a couple of refill stops.
They do eat miles well - as said in another thread, can't think of a better replacement

Ah, ok. So keep one in the car and even if I can't fit it then at least some garage somewhere won't have to source one. Good. Worth knowing. Come to think of it a previous Omega I had, had one fail. Cheers Jamie. :y There's a VX dealer down the road.
