I found this website with a bit about my Southern Snowdonia home area: "Hiraethog" ("Place of Great-Longing"); it`s funny how when one lives in an area one often doesn`t notice the 'interesting' aspects. ;)

Looks fantastic Debs.
After seeing the odd pictures you have taken arround your "projects" and thinking how fantastic it sounded when you said you had 72 acres to wander round. I bet you have had some fantastastic seasonal photo opportunities, along with the sunrise and sunsets over the surrounding scenery.
I have only ever been to Wales once and that was over 25 years ago to llandudno.
I think a holiday in Wales has got to be added on the places to visit list.
I am just so jealous.

I have always loved Wales mostly as my family origianted there a generation or so back (grandparents) one of the last unspoilt places within easy reach.

You have to go back a bit further -- I thought we were welsh (dad, grandparents and G- grandparents), but before that Cornish -- but BOTH beautiful places :) Still a celt tho !!!!

I like the "Have a go at Welsh" section --- neglects to say you need a cleft palatte and a split tongue !!!!!!!!

Now that is funny, sorry no offence to the welsh speakers amongst us, My Aunt used to live in a place called Swyffrd and when I was a young un I could never pronounce the name as it sounds completely different to how it's spelt. So when Holy said that It reminded me of my own attempts at the Welsh language.

Hadnt realised you were over that way as well.
I am central in the country, I am 20 mins from Derbyshire and 2 hours from the East coast (Cleethotpes/Skegness) also 2 Hours from the West coast (Black pool)
North Wales, near to the Ocean (Unlike the East coast *** pit) I just love the thought of spending some time over there. Maybe one day, you will have to send me a list of places to visit so I cab cram some sight seeing in.

My Grandmother was from Anglesey, she married my Grandfather & moved to Neston (on the Wirral) Ironically my Mum lived in Chester as a teenager when she left London.
I'm a Southener happily settled in Lincolnshire as are some aunts & uncles & some in the Peak District. Guess we're a transient bunch!!! ;D
