Title: Show us your scabby bits
Post by: MarkG on 22 August 2014, 18:45:16
Whilst my car looks OK after a wash, closer inspection reveals some rather nasty tin-worm

Rear nearside lower wheel arch

Rear offside not nearly so bad but on the way

(http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii17/markgriffiths/IMG_0166.jpg) (http://s260.photobucket.com/user/markgriffiths/media/IMG_0166.jpg.html)

Rear offside upper wheel arch has been repaired many times (not very well) and now needs doing again (properly)

and perhaps the most significant I only found today after I noticed the carpet under the front passenger seat was wet. I need to get this sorted quickly

So who else would like to share their scabby bits with the forum?

Yep...mine has a few battle scars there. Nothing as bad as that though.

A quick rub down with sandpaper, followed by Kurust and then silver touch up paint, and she is fine for another year. :y

I have bubbling at top of windscreen guessing that it was scratched during a windscreen change , the windscreen has a wee chip but the bubbling needs windscreen out to sort ......dilemma

Rust in the windscreen aperture will cause your windscreen to crack sooner or later anyway. I had to have significant rust treatment and re-spray to my windscreen aperture a year or two ago. Since had the windscreen replaced again because of a crack but that was because of a stone chip

My last Omega didn't look as bad as the OP's but when the plastic sill covers were removed I discovered that the sills had rotted out :(

With winter coming the stoneship will crack mot is in march  that will fail as it  right in the center of drivers vision  The rust spot will need treated before end if next year  or it will be a bigger job.

If you get a new screen remember tell them you want a full set of trims fitted to screen as well
