Its the only clue left over from my recent wack down the side of the Elite Estate, so thanks in advance. Chris.

Its a Vauxhall mirror cover, drivers side, possible Astra H in Star Silver Three. Going by the pics in your other post is doesn't look like the one off your car.
Cheers

Beat me to it andy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-Astra-H-MK-5-2004-2009-Wing-Mirror-Cover-HOLDER-Brand-New-RHS-/331172781365?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4d1b6f9d35
Looking at the silver piccies it looks the same.

That is OOF working at its best Andy. :y :y :y

Astra G actually. :D

That last photo has some significant clues. What does it tell you about the date and year of manufacture? What is that stamped above the date box? And is there something else stamped on the top side? If you can find a part number anywhere, googling it will likely reveal all you need to know

Deffo Astra G - I'd say Z147 Star Silver.
If I'm wrong, I'll get some Glasses! ;D
-
I'm impressed. Well done fellas. :y
-
Thanks Gents for the quick response, found a couple of Astra H so I can compare, its not that one so will go on the hunt for some G's, not found any yet. :y
-
Definitely a "G"

If your thinking an Astra did the damage to the estate :o it won't be to hard to find, with the front missing.
I would assume, the Astra was coming down the road/or parked, and the larger vehicle that scratched the estate moved over to miss the Astra
-
There should be a part number stamped on the mirror case. That will tell you what vehicle it was for sure.

Starting to think the Astra Mirror is a Red Herring, :-\, the Estate was parked left side of road front facing forward, therefor doesn't make sense it would be the Astra's Driver Mirror, unless it was passing mine on the wrong side of the road?
Also damaged is not consistent with it being another Car, more Truck, Box Van.
The only thing that does match is there is no third party paint left over on mine, so follows it could have been a Silver 147 hitting another Silver 147. :-\

The damage to your car looks like the arse end of a lorry turning thats caught it, its not car on car damage.
No paint markings left as it will be the 'under rider bar' or tail lift thats hit it, driver most likely didn't realise they had done it hence no note.
Was there an entrance opposite where the car was parked?
-
Could have been from a car parked behind or in front maybe? And same vehicle that hit yours hit that one

Kinda thinking the same TBH, hence why I think the Mirror could be a Red Herring.
No, I purposely dont park near a Corner, Bend, Entrance etc for that very reason, learnt that lesson a long time ago in my teens.
