hie all. sorry if this has been asked already (if so please refer me to the proper thread).
What is the right ENGINE OIL for my Opel Omega 2.2 petrol. I remember reading something in the Omega manual about right oil type but don't remember now (manual is in Omega and i cant go out to fetch it now :-\).
My Omega got 180 something KMs on the clock, my HG will be put back tomorrow. i been using 20W-50 but realised it is the wrong oil as it is too thick and burns into thick sludge if engine overheats. They say 15W-40 is fine and thinner and makes engine run smooth.
Please help...

10/40 semi gm's finest :y

There's a link to the manual here...
So that's what that button does... (http://images.omegaowners.com/documents/UserGuides/OmegaOct2002.pdf)
Either 10W40 semi synthetic or 5W30 fully synthetic :y
But see what manual says regarding hotter climates...

Probably i will have to check manual tomorrow. Am here in Windhoek, Namibia desert country where its hot all the time (as in through-out the year) :)

Given the temps and dust (that might be my perception of where you are) I'd put in any quality oil of the right grade, and change it every 5000 kms. That will be better than a top quality, expensive oil left in for 20000 kms

I always use 10w40 of whatever's cheap every 4-5000 miles :y

What about 15w-40? Would that also work?
