Title: Retro fitting Bose...
Post by: chrisgixer on 31 August 2014, 10:08:51
...to the facelift 3.2 mv6/8 project. What's involved? It has 2013 with CID, but standard speakers. And it sounds shit frankly. But anyway, this is a long way off as there's a lot of work to do first but if plans work out it will become my daily driver. So standard speakers just won't do...

Install Bose loom, Amp and Rear Base Subs, replace Door Speakers, configure NCDC to Bose Mode via Tech2 (Probably have to Tech2 the CID as well if you want the Bose Logo, cant remember) Job done.  ;)

Thought you didn't do Electricary.   :-X

You probably wont have the kick panel loom plug to be able to plug the Bose loom into, easy enough to deal with that though - either graft one on or just graft the two looms together.

Bit of a bastid due to lack of loom between HU and kick panel as VXL V6 says.

Loom cannot even easily be unpicked from a donor with all the dash out. I spent about an hour getting nowhere trying to get it out of Goldie for MDTM, and got precisely nowhere....

The rest is straightforward.

Solder and heat shrink tubing is your friend  :y

You may or may not be lucky and have the 12V and switched 12V feeds available or you have to pick them off the ISO.

Does the parcel shelf have the cut outs for the rear speakers?
