That Nero is a load of crap,
It cannot deal with a MKV file. So moved onto Convertxtodvd
-
MKV is a relatively recent file format, how old is your version of Nero ?

I learned again how utterly hopeless management is, both in the uk generally and at work. The more senior, the more hopeless. Utterly hopeless.
Cost savings that directly impact production capability, at a busiest time while complaining profits are down. Madness.

You must be able to make a fortune in consultancy fees advising big companies in a bit of trouble like Tesco, Co-Op Bank etc. You could certainly put them right ;D
The very worst managers are in the public sector EG: NHS, very few good ones, AND they get very well paid >:(

Rog how is Tesco's in trouble???....In this country alone last year its profit was £3.3 bn....ok they thought it might have been as high as £3.5 bn....but I wouldn't mind being on the receiving end of that profit....now has for the co op bank/group if you keep buying failing businesses which need bailing out (Somerfield to name just one) and as a company you do not have a unlimited pot to fill the black hole that exist basic rules of economics state that sooner of later you are going to have a short fall and possibly do damage to your business.
As NHS having the worst managers that's wide sweeping unfounded generalisation which I think you find there as some very good managers in the NHS....just way too many

on the other hand I learned today the half arsed idea that Vauxhall have of hiding the headlights behind an air box and other associated crap that has to be removed just to replace a bulb >:( >:(

I learnt that when you're on daily report, smile at the right times, say what the mongrels want to hear, and then you get taken off it.
Then you can say what a pile of old wank it all is with less fear of reprisals.
I also learnt that the youngsters of today lack the fire/passion/anger to put mgmt. back on track, leaving it to the coffin dodgers. Gay whimps!
-
How NOT to argue with 38 ton HGV's
Been to 2 RTC's involving them today, not a pretty sight!!! :o :o :o :-\ :-\ :-\

Apparently excelling at what you are employed to do is a bad thing nowadays.
So yes...

So yes...
And calling up an ex colleague who now works at another company to ask about a server he built years ago and for what we had conflicting info about caused nothing but tuts and looks from mgmt.
Still, it got an important server almost back up after being flat on its back since August. Even if I will get marked down for unprofessional methods.
rather mongrels, the lot of them.

Ah yes, seems familiar.
I'm now acting up in a more senior role.... Apparently management did have some concerns about me acting up as I have a habit of telling it like it is and treating everyone the same until I deem them intelligent enough to earn some respect from me.
So far two of the Security guards outside the Datacentre and the woman who refills the coffee machine have gained more respect from me than anyone else in the establishment.
On a similar note to your situation.... I had a call a little while back from an ex site I used to look after who had issues with their phone system, from the symptoms described I could only assume that certain traffic was being blocked by the implicit deny rule on one of the firewalls, which ultimately meant that someone had disabled or removed the allowing rule. I was told that that hadn't happened blah blah blah and couldn't I come up with something better to which I replied, 'yeh what's plastic and goes 'click, brrrrrrrrr' ' and put the phone down on them.

I learned how I get easy rid of a driver tomorrow as he pissed me off.

it is much easier to get rid of an engineer that has pissed me off....although it has to wait until next week has I am off on holiday

I learned too late that some idiot in Tescos was brewing for a fight with me for some reason*, so when he banged his bottles in to me I thought it was a genuine accident, and left it at that. My colleague had seen more of the build up, and that he did it on purpose, so started on. Didn't quite come to fisticuffs unfortunately...
* Possibly related to me walking off muttering something like "Bletchley Retard" as he wanted all his shopping put through the till again so he could put it on 2 receipts... ...but the retard didn't mention it before the girl ran it through first time.

I learnded today that every time you read a cd or a dvd that it deteriorates. :-\
I Thought they lived forever (if you dont scratch them) and its just the lens that deteriorates
-

Vectra C headlights can be removed with three bolts and no need to disturb anything iirc... ::) Refer to dealer my arse ;D
Presumably this is the same airbox that simply pulls out once the aircon pressure switch has been unplugged ::)

Oh, Really? I don't see why shining a few milliwatts of laser light on them will make any odds, tbh.
Still, all my CDs are ripped and on a server, so I rarely play them any more.
-
I don't know about reading them, but I do know someone who had several early CDs (i.e. "First and Last and Always" released in 1985) that deteriorated (the silver substrate broke down) to the point of being unreadable.
Come to think of it I noticed that a few of my old computer CDs had started to go the same way when I was chucking them all out the other day.

There were some issues with early CD pressings where the plastic deteriorated and moisture got in (most made up near Burnley at the old Mullard factory I think!).
Of course burnt CD's will never last as they are based on a dye technology which decays with age anyway

Today I learnt that both my tents are at my brothers in the New Forest. Suffice to say that he has just departed Venice on a two week cruise ;D

Not a problem when you own a omega....seats down job :y

That wasps fly away when a yellow microfiber cloth is waved about at them ;D

True enough, but also irrelevant when local Helfrods stocks a two man tent on clearance at £30 ;D
-
I'm about to learn if taxi al's air bed will fit in said 2 man tent. Not convinced at the moment!

I learned that Taxi Al uses an airbed when camping. Poof! ::) ;D

yesterday : oil catch can inlets are small but if they are increased and used as dual inlet, it will be very useful.. of course you need a bigger hole at the top for pressurized air outlet..
today : black bumper paints are more suitable to 1.7 guns instead of 1.4.. and dont mix with reducer ;D or you end up with a black mud ;D ;D

I've reaffirmed that on the whole, the British motor insurance industry is a self serving, lying thieving bunch of barstewards whose only remit is to take your money & thumb their noses at you when you need them to apply plain common sense to a claim!
Even with supplied clear video evidence from a DashCam, they insist on a 50/50 outcome because, 'there were no independent witnesses'! WTF is the camera, if not impartial ???
