Title: Engine shutting down.
Post by: parkview211 on 07 September 2014, 03:30:57
Hi All,
I am new to the site, thanks for accepting me.

I desperately need your help. I changed the oil cooler and head gaskets (heads were planed also). Everything went well but when the car was started it ran for a while but when the temperature gauge got to 80c the engine shut down. It is not overheating but the fan does not cut in. Changed the coolant temperature sensor and checked the relays.
What could be the problem?

a good place to start would be to check the easy things first like, is the fuel getting to the engine and is the spark getting to the plugs.
if you get fuel and spark maybe a code reader needs to be attached to tell you if there's a bigger problem.
people on here have code readers, see if you can find someone close to you who can read the cars codes for you.. if you can here is a site to tell you the results meanings
http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/ (http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/)

and here is an invite to a great Phone network

if you get no joy here try there forums, people are always willing to help
