Title: London bus / PCV Driver jobs

Hi Everybody,

I'm thinking of moving to London in the near future for various reasons. I'm currently working with National Express West Midlands as a PCV Service Driver and I'm interested in working for one of the big Bus Companies in London.

I see from the job sites they all seem to be recruiting. Arriva, Abellio, Metroline, Go Ahead, Tower Transit , London Utd etc,

Does anybody know which companies are doing well and are good to work for ? Any idea of the current rate of pay for a PCV licence holder ?

 :( I remember a programme on a while ago about London bus drivers , they seemed to get a LOT of pressure to maintain very strict timetables , didn't look like a whole lot of fun driving buses ?

Our member Kate used to drive buses in London, now living in Cornwall, or is it Devon? same thing really.......... :D :D

I know someone that works for arriva in south london, if you want can find out how the pay is, but wonder if it varies from region to region, as your location is west mids (if so then that info will be useless) :y

Abellio was on your Hit list, Abellio 'London Buses' are now part of the National Express Group?

We had a chat about this before Paul, last year, if my memory serves me correctly.

Yes Chris I think you're right, we did have a chat I seem to remember  :-\

I think Abellio took over from what was Travel London and National Express took over what was Travel West Midlands ( where I am ) I think ?

Been reading some press stories over the months and watching the Routmasters programme, not sure moving to work in London would be a good move after all  :-\
