Mine has started doing this intermittently. I'm thinking that the fuel pump is weak.

Any codes stored?

Whilst I wouldn't like to say without further diags, I reckon RobG is right...  ...but its a leap of faith buying a new one on a hunch

That be a) why it broken, and b) why the advice is to only buy one from an actual, physical dealer that you go into...

If you have the receipt, then take it back for a refund and fit a genuine one from Frosts :y

p.s. do it soon otherwise you'll start to get random codes and strange gearbox messages :-\

Al, Master will be disappointed in you. Teach the learner in the ways of the force you must, if he is to become a fully trained oof Jedi. Pattern parts only lead to the Dark side.

 Hmmm, true words indeed, but only a learner who listens a Jedi shall become :-\

Pay attention they must ::)

greetings guys, reading this thread with interest, have a z22xe engine that will turn over but not fire, having checked the codes i've found p0100 mass or volume air flow circuit low input, p1555 TPS load signal not plausible with engine load and p070 lean exhaust. now what is bemusing me is that having cleared the fault codes the engine still will not fire but there are no fault codes present either. any ideas. also sorry if i've jumped in on somebody elses thread, but thought it may be of interest to the other body !

Saloon or estate and how much fuel in it? Also is the car perfectly level?

Low fuel, less than 1/4 tank together with a sloped road, both left camber and either up or down hill will pretty much guarantee non starting, especially estates...

If less than a quarter tank put another 3 gallons in and try again, along with jacking the lefthand side of the car until it is more or less level :y

after further thought and checks we've come to the conclusion that its down to the fuel pump relay. I find your comments about low fuel intriguing, as we had a situation quite similar some time ago whereby the car was on a slope with about twenty miles ish on the trip, suffice to say she wouldn't start until there was another gallon in the tank. a salutary lesson learnt methinks !!
