Title: IT Security Head's up
Post by: Gaffers on 17 September 2014, 08:10:25
the Sobig.f virus has been updated and rereleased hitting a peak last night affecting internet speeds.

It spreads through email, look out for headers like "Thank you", "Re: Details" or "Re: Wicked Screensaver".  Let me know if you get infected as I have access to some cleaning tools :y

From what I've seen, doesn't appear to have generated noticeable traffic on our transits. Is it hitting the UK much?

I noticed it affecting internet speeds yesterday, but it seems to have hit our US userbase more than Europe or Asia.  Today seems a lot better although I have other bandwidth issues on our networks- iOS and Sumsung releasing updates at about the same time = a lot of cheeky buggers updating their phones at work.
