Hi James,
some months ago you reported a mysterious noise following a V6 cam belt change. Did you ever resolve it?

Just to note... I've still got the same squeak that James had however it's nowhere near as bad as when I first fitted belt.
Not worrying about it :y

How dare you! Everyone knows that GM belts and tensioners can go on for at least 120k miles ::) ;D ;D

Yep, keep them in the box in the boot and they should be ok for that mileage.

It resolved itself after a bit it must have been the writing on the belt - you can see where it's made a tiny groove in the tensioner, nothing to worry about :y

Thanks, James. That's a relief. As said before, I returned 2 Vx kits after suffering similar experiences, finally fitting an SKF kit, that was silent. I recall that your thread attracted reports of similar problems from other menbers.
