Top Gear is back this Sunday. Great. What we have hear is a bunch of middle aged men acting like schoolboys,.Sounds very much like OOF to me.
Apparently, this week they are buying a police car for not more than £1000. Hmmmm. Any ideas what it might be.?

A Vitara - with pink Police
An Fiat - in mint and white with Police in a German or italian
A Lexus - in white with ' Rozzers' on the side
Just my guess anyway ;)

Apart from the cost of fuel, WHY CAN'T WE HAVE THIS.
The 270kW, 6.0 litre, V8-powered cars are the first instance of a brand new SS model VE Commodores to appear in police livery.

Already set to record on my V+ box as I am working until 8 on sunday.

I listened to an interesting interview of Mrs. Mum-Clarkson on the radio today; `she of the Paddington Bear fame....`nice lady and quite a character....very 'Yorkshire': "says what she likes and likes what she says!" ;D

why does Clarkson hate Vauxhalls ?
-
'Coz many of them are crap, Astras are better than fwd escorts but i'll stick my neck out (again) & say Veccies are w*nk. Driven a few up to a 53 plate & find them dull, uninspiring with dubious handling. Rather have a Cavalier myself.
I signed up as a Mig lover not a VX lover in general.

Does it not come down to the same old thing though.
FWD V RWD.
I just dont like FWD, most of them are basic ecconomy cars, which compared to the build status of my Elite, theoreticaly puts them in the "cheap and nasty" catagory. (Sorry)
I drove a brand new Skoda Octavia (Audi A4) tiptronic, wood trim fantastic brakes about 2 years ago. Was actually quite impressed especially when I realised it was tractor. I was even thinking if push came to shove with the fuel econmy and performance would I go back to FWD
It got pluses all the way on trim, looks, handling, braking and performance. But I had issues with comfort and a couple of other things, but it still niggled me, would I buy one.
After the run round, which I went 26 miles, touching 90 mph on open country roads I got back into my Carlton Diplomat.
Took me 10 seconds to make the descision. NO, I wouldnt go and nuy one, whether it's a FWD thing or not I reckon they all all a harsher ride and allways seem uncomfortable after a while, and in the end, allthough they have a fun element, you cant powerslide them like rWD.
So in my book.
RWD Rocks.

why does Clarkson hate Vauxhalls ?
Why does Clarkson hate Vectra more like.
He likes Monaro, and his favourite mini cab is an Omega
-
Does it not come down to the same old thing though.
FWD V RWD.
Both cars he likes are RWD, the one he doesnt is wrong wheel drive
-
but no Omega on the show tonight that was a proper police car
-
why does Clarkson hate Vauxhalls ?
Because for a while in the 90's he was 'sponsored' by Ford, i use the term loosely as it wasn't a sponsorship deal more an arrangement where Clarkson was given fords, normally Cosworth ones on either a reduced purchase scheme or as a 'loan car'
He got his GT40 due to his relationship with ford, and when it started giving major issues they bought it back from him only for him to then buy it back once they had assured him that all the issues were resolved.
He doesn't only have Vauxhalls mind you, there are quite a few Asian car companies who will not let him drive their cars

Agreed :y

See the Allegro jumping cars backwards? If my memory serves me well when they came out B.L. did a recall on them due to the back window popping out! the back window certainly popped out on that one ;D
You could also here an Allegro approaching you with your eyes closed, due to an annoying wind whistle coming from the front bodywork.

Only because he cant fit in them! ;)

Only if it was louder then the gearbox whine. ;D

I was making a list of my car history the other and was just reading this and realised I had owned a 1500 estate Allegro.
How the heck could I have forgotton that.

Mate of mine had one of those. Every week he lost another gear. Ruddy gearbox linkage! Ended up with just 1st and 4th. Rev the nuts off it in 1st then bang it into 4th, and don't park anywhere you'd have to reverse out of! ;D
