I have a 2003 Fabia Htp 1.2 3cyl on my drive
Belongs to a friend. Has failed emissions test
Had a look today. Garage have been doing the usual fit and hope diagnosis, coil packs etc, to no avail
I did a compression test. Cyl 1 200 psi. Cyl 2 50psi. Cyl 3 150psi.
Thoughts on this? Research shows burnt valve issues
Anyone has a head off one of these? All looks pretty easy but need to check timing procedure. Either way head needs to come off for a look
Also the electro pas warning light is on. Anyone know what kit can read the codes for this.
Cheers all :y

Lock kit quite cheap on ebay.
Electric power steering? Usually sits on the ns front bumper and can fail due to its location £300.
Vcds will come up with no comms.

Compression doesn't improve with a drop of oil in the hole, no burning oil, and no difference hot or cold.
Convinced it's valve trouble :y

I think your going to have to get the head of and see whats happened to cylinder 2

Leak down test fills the cylinder with compressed air while the engine is stationary with the cylinder in question is at tdc and measures the air leak rate.
valve gone very probable

Mucho thanks :y
Head is ready to unbolt and lift away. Only thing to remove is exhaust manifold which looked like it needed an overnight plusgas soak first!!!
