Contemplating doing a bit of "C" class agency driving over the winter. I drive them regularly now but not on a professional basis.
Is there much to it?

Apart from the £400 it costs?
No.
There are no tests, and much of it is boring as hell, which all depends on how good the tutor is. You need 35 hours, which is a week if you do it all in one go.

If you're a bit rusty on Working Time Directive and Drivers Hours (not the same thing), there's nothing to stop you doing the same module more than four times :-X
Do you have a Digi card? If not, fill in the form and post it with a suitably sized cheque... You'll need it if you want to get any work :y

Did mine last month.
The hardest part of the course is not snoring in class ;D
Probably the most boring 35 hour in my life ever :D
Do course, wait about 14 days for your licence then fill out one of these :y

Already started to see a shortage of drivers over here. A lot of the old timers/good drivers retiring due to not wanting to do it, using it as an excuse to retire. Thank god I'm exempt from having it.

I only fix them so not driving professionally. Same as don't need tacho as normally road testing but if going to psv or know my destination I do.

If I wanted to resurrect my lorryist licence I'd have to shell out about £550, as I'd have to have a medical, do the CPC course and buy a new digi-card. ::) Is it worth it? :-\

All depends on what work is available around your parts
What I can say for definite is that due to a lot of drivers retiring / kicking it into touch, there is a lot of work in Eire driving across to the continent at the moment if that floats your boat so to speak ;D
