Title: Seam Sealer or Waxoyl?
Post by: Diamond Black Geezer on 03 October 2014, 11:56:32
So about to drill some holes in the floorpan, just to add a little corrosion protection I'd like to pop a dab of paint in the hole and on the bolt going through.

-If I bought a tin of Waxoyl it should come in elsewhere on other sections of the chassis with surface rust - or should I be using the proper 'stone chip' paint, for these jobs instead?

-Seam sealer, well, never done any welding in my life (I've seen my soldering, so welding will end much worse!) so I know nothing about it, other than it 'seals the seam', hence the name  :D

-Blob of black Hammerite

-Something else, like black drains / gutters sealer from Wilkos (sounds silly, but I don't see why this wouldnt work, unless its actually slightly hydroscopic, or something)

Cheers in advance!  :)

A polyurethane sealer plus some paint would be my suggestion.
