Hi guy's I'm another newbie after some advice,
I have just recently purchased a 2001 MV6 2.6 Auto and the EML came on and the codes I got were for Fuel banks 1/2 has anyone got any ideas, also is it quite easy to change the rocker gaskets as I have a leak on the drivers side but I'm looking to do both at the same time, and another thing is the car comes with a phone built in I believe its on vodafone network correct me if I'm wrong but can I get this unlocked so I can put another sim in it......Sorry to go on a bit :y

Maf or air leak affecting both banks? Post the codes just to be doubley sure.
Phone is Voda or O2. There are no un locking options due to the band width of those two networks only.
-
Phone q depends on the head unit fitted...
CCRT2008 will also allow Tmobile/Orange/EE and 3 :y
NCDC20xx is O2/Vodaphone only, as Chris suggests :y

Thanks for that, the codes are P0170/P0173 these are from a Gunson EOBD11 Fault code reader

Telematics then, (NCDC head unit). Units aren't network locked but only capable of supporting 800Mhz Networks, therefore 02 / Vodafone (as previously advised) or on of the networks that utilise those companies - Tesco, GiffGaff etc.

....hmmm, try the pedal trick, just to double check. Sometimes code readers lie, or miss stuff.
But without live data to confirm maf readings, I'd guess it's a maf fault. Especially as its a 2.6. They seem more prone to maf faults.
It's the same maf as on the 3.2 and other various vehicles so should be easy enough to find a genuine bosch one for cheaper than dealer money. Don't bother with pattern Mafs they are shite.

Ideally it would be good to swap with a known good maf if there's a member near by that can help with that?
Just to confirm the fault BEFORE you buy a new one.

I see you are in Oxfordshire and may not be far from TheBoy who has Tech2 to read codes. :y

if your local to me-I can put my maf on your car to try?
