Title: Estate Fuel Filter Change

So I got the correct tool for releasing the fuel filter clips, one comes off no problem the other stubbornly refused until the pipe snapped.  :(

So what to do now? Do VX still sell the broken part? Anyone have a part number? How on earth do you get up behind the diff to fix the other end of the replacement part it to the metal pipe?

Any thoughts appreciated.

ISO7480 fuel hose plus four suitably sized stainless jubilee clips :y

Depending on your location, any boatyard/decent chandlery will have what you need :y

SO cut the pipe off the end of the metal pipe up behind the diff and replace with the hose?

How do you get access up there to remove / replace?

Nope, simply get a 4" length, large enough to be a tight fit on :y the filter end... (6mm internal diameter?)

Tother end goes over the busted line... I can't remember if there's an elbow where the clip has snapped off, but either way remove as little pipe as possible, but ensure you have a straight run to slide the hose onto.

Two jubilee clips each end and job done  :y

That hose is fuel grade btw :y

I agree with everything Al said here as it's exactly how I would deal with the problem; I've even used that technique to fit fuel injection to cars that didn't already have it. Using two hose clips and a lot of overlap is probably unnecessary, but lets not take chances with fuel at 4bar!

Ok, cut the pipe about 1/4" back from the elbow :y
