Title: 3.2 Frontera snag
Post by: joff on 06 October 2014, 17:19:25
Family member has just e-mailed me to say she has just got a 3.2 manual LWB limited Frontera with 49,300 miles on it. After getting it home after a few days the the EML and Airbag light has come on. RAC said it was MaF meter and a new Vauxhall part was fitted at £230. After a day lights are now back on. Took it to Vauxhall for Tech2 to be told it's the idle control valve and want £500 to fit one  :o :o. Any ideas ? :-\

At that price, it might be worth a clean of the ICV :-\

Frontera uses an Isuzu lump in the 3.2 doesn't it ???,makes for expensive bits :'(

Is it not a Vauxhall 3.2 petrol engine the same as the omega then. Not seen the thing yet as she is 50 miles from me?

Quick check on frontera forum, you can use a 2.2 icv BUT you need to swap over the rubber nipple bit, then turn ignition on for 6 seconds, then off for 6 seconds  and repeat 4 times, that resets the Icv and computer learns new part fitted.
