First one. What is hidden behind the front drivers wing..
Second one. When using the heating/Air con controls in my old green one when you turned it up or down it showed you with the display going up and down, it also stayed litup. my new car seems to show it while you are turning the button it then disapears. Is this correct or is the unit on the way out.

1. Air pump/compressor for rear shocks if an elite with air suspension
2. Climate control should show set temp constantly while switched on (I think . . . has on all my FL 's )

Offside front wings contain, from back to front, working clockwise:
1. Carbon cannister. Feeds petrol vapour from the tank to the inlet manifold via the purge valve (at the back of the 135 head on v6s).
2. Xenon level control ECU. Located behind the headlight housing, only properly accessible with the wing removed.
3. Suspension self leveling pump, where fitted, Plod estates and all Elites iirc. Technically doesn't count as it's behind the bumper...
Hth :y

Thanks chaps So it the air pump I keep hearing. :y
Reference the air con controls. I thought it should stay on. Can I do a reset or do I need a new one.
-
Reset won't hurt.
Might need ignition in position 2. Press and hold off and auto simultaneously.
-
Can't think why the display would go off on drivers side though.

Left hand drive config perhaps :-\

Left hand drive config perhaps :-\
....if it didn't come on when adjusted, then yes possibly. As I understand it anyway. :-\

Sticky button/dial knob maybe?

Hope the OP doesn't mind...im getting a whiff of petrol when driving, some times very faint other times pretty strong.
Had a look under bonnet but nothing obvious...just wondering if these leak or break down etc.

Its not the drivers side its the fan speed display that goes out after ajusting.on the passenger side.
-
is "auto" showing?
-
Sounds like a failing display then :-\

yes only the bars disappears
-
With some climate configs, the fan display will go out when set back to auto fan speed (set to 4 bars - this sets it to Auto).
Passenger side temp display goes out when set to follow the drivers side - pressing either knob toggles this.
