Title: Deep dish alloy wheels.
Post by: carswaps on 14 October 2014, 14:08:05
I'm looking for some deep dish alloy wheels (wider at the rear) for the MV6 estate.
Any ideas? Pics?
What's the largest I can go? 19" 20"?

These are just a few Omegas sporting deep dish wheels. They're from my Catera/Omega Album and there are probably more. Don't ask me what brands they are, or their sizes. I'm sure others can help with that. You asked for pictures, so I gave you pictures.

Flip through my album for others, but make sure you have plenty of time. It's a big one.

Pics 1,2 and 4 are various designs of Azev wheels iirc...

More for show than handling perhaps :-\

Really like the Azev wheels but bet there a fortune!
I like the BBS LM style wheels also.
Would 20" go in without any mods?

I believe the largest used on a Catera have been 19 inch. Of course wheel well and body clearance would depend on the wheel's offset and choice of tire size. Measure the space available carefully and if possible measure the tires before spending any money.

If all you want is the look that's good and fine, but with such short sidewalls the ride will be harsh and jarring. I find my 17 inchers a good compromise between handling performance and ride comfort, though I suppose 18 inch wheels would be about the same but leaning towards the handling side of the equation.

There's a little wheel/tire related stuff on one of our Catera Forums. It's not very active anymore due to the scarcity of our cars but the info is still useful.

8J ET30 is as wide as you can go at the front, rears will take a 10J ET25, but tyre wear will be ridiculous on the inside edge of the rears due to camber...  :y
