Title: new road tax... direct debit

I`ve just used the DVLA web site to set up my direct debit for the renewal of my road tax for next year... i wonder how many other people will use it and how many people it will cause hassle for???? ;D ;D ;D ;D

Good idea me thinks, being able to spread the cost over 6 or 12 months.

Plus you wont get that feeling of just had to Tax it before I sell it, under the new stupid system, despite the fact you would have got your money back anyway.

Thing that gets my goat is that its EXTRA to pay by D/D, bit cheeky when there is no one manually inputting it. All electronic now!

at least it's now only 5% & not the 10% that is was to tax it for two lots of 6 months  ??? ???

Never heard of that one Chris    . . .  insurance yes  . .  many years ago  . . but cannot remember tax ever  being available for less

than 6 months :-\ :-\

Yes, you used to be able to buy just a quarter year/3 months tax.  :y

I can't remember if I ever taxed a car for 4 months ...... I think I did, but can't be sure now  :-\  ;D  ;D
