Title: 2.2 - 2.6 conversion
Post by: Lewis Mellis irl on 15 October 2014, 18:09:06
Hi lads. I've been using a 2.2 omega as a track drift car with the last yr or so. Gave it to my buddie last Sunday and he boiled it. So now in thinking its time for a little more power. I've been thinking of putting the 2.6 v6 into it as the 3.0/3.2 is a bit to costly where I'm from. Can anyone give me a heads up on if it's a straight swap or is new mounts needed. Will the box do. Or any other pitfalls that might arise for me. Thanks lAds appriciate it.

Need the following...

V6 subframe
Engine loom
Ecu
New loom from ecu to dash
New radiator plus extra front fan with wiring
Gearbox depends on what is fitted

Better off buying a 2.6 to wreck :-X

Subframe too?  Problem is there making about €2000. And we all know it's not worth it

I go over to Kildare fairly frequently, do you want me to drive a cheap 3.0/3.2 over for you next time I go?

It would pay you to head the mainland, buy a 3.0l and fit any of your track stuff to it. I don't see the point of the 2.5.
Old V6 Omegas aren't worth anything here, the money you mentioned will buy you a nice facelift.
