If he has served his sentence,  and done so honestly, then why not :-\

No different to someone getting a clean licence again once their points are spent imho... sure the crimes aren't comparable,  but neither are the punishments.

Presumably professional footballers, and other sports' participants undergo regular CRB checks... especially given the schools/charity work that the bigger players and clubs are involved in :-\

That will be on his record for a long while yet, so it isn't like his punishment is over just because he has been released...

If he tries to step out for Sheffield Utd., he'll be stoned. :)

No way he should play again would u be happy with him as a team mate, or the victim watching her attacker make tons of money as she's trying to rebuild her life.

A few years ago Lee Hughes formerly of WBA was involved in a traffic accident of which he was convicted of death by dangerous driving and leaving the scene of a accident( probably to escape a breath test) yet he was welcomed back into football without to much fuss so the dilema is a murderer seems ok to be rehabilitated but a rapist does,nt .dunno how society works that one out or have we just become immune to murder its such a everday occurance these days.

He has served his sentence for the offence he was found guilty of. That was deemed his punishment so end of, let him get on with the rest of his life, and his career.  :y

On that basis, should we simply shoot everyone in the head when they break the law :-\

Say once for speeding, twice for assault... and so on :-\

He was convicted, has served a sentence, and been/is being released. That is how the criminal justice system works in a free and democratic society, and rightly so imho...

No shit... that's why speeding gets you three points and an £80 fine and rape gets you a five year prison sentence  ::)

I never said it was fair, but it is the way the system works. If you don't like it, become an MP and change it :y

Tens of thousands released from prison for relatively trivial crimes. Make a job application for a 'minimum wage' job and put 'prison' on the application and see how far you get...

He may have 'done his time' but it dosn't make him a person of good character.  >:(

Putting football to one side, how many employers would keep a position open for an employee convicted of rape?  Not many I'd wager.  ::)

As a few on here will know very well, i'm one of the biggest advocates of dis embowlment and general torture until death of all rape and kiddy fiddling crimes.
There is not a word in the English language to describe what I feel about these bastards so you lot will probably have to read this bit at least twice  ;D

I had this conversation on a football forum around the time it happened.
I also did some research into what ALL parties was claiming at the time too.

I know he has been found guilty by the court system BUT something about the whole episode just doesn't sit right with me  :-\
Is Ched Evans a vile piece of shite who deserves a good kicking on a weekly basis, Oh Yes  :y :y
Is he a rapist ?
In this instance, I have my doubts  :-\

As for should he be able to carry on playing football again ?
Well its a BIG YES from me because I cant think of a better arena for the world to show what they think of him  :-X :-X :-X
