i have just bought a new interior for my elite...its out of a facelift model...mine is a pref/l...I have a lil question...do the interior door handles pull the other way on a facelift model to the pre f/l....or are they shorter....as I tried the pass door card I noticed the door handle was catching the edge of the hole that's there for it.....if they are the other way can I just buy a facelift set of handles and put them in or am I gonna have to get my saw out lol
-
I would suggest acquiring the facelift handles... assuming that you mean the chrome levers :y
-
yeah i think thy are...mine are black...will they just swap over

What are you doing re window switches? :-\

Asked and ignored Andy... So presumably nothing :-\

Sorry Andy....im thinking of either running fresh wiring to the doors or blanking off the switch holes and keeping existing switches...cant decide yet

Sorry for the bucket of cold water, but FL and PFL handles aren't just interchangeable - you'd have to literally attack your doorcards with a hacksaw or similar to force them to fit right - in your case pointless, as FL handles are solid metal, chromed look great, and basically superior (though it pains me to say it, being a lover of the PFLs)
You've also got the decision to make as for the centre console, as mentioned. Personally I'd be tempted to just fit a FL centre console, this would gain you a split and tilting armrest and a beverage cup holder. Also a cubby lid which you don't elbow and wrench off the car when you leave it up, then go for the handbrake. This would mean you dont have any window switches which are suddenly non-functional. If you make sure the wood trim (assuming you have wood in yours?) is from a later FL with the gloss wood, rather than the matt finish, too, so it is a decent match :y

Sorry, but that's irrelevant... OP has/is fitting facelift door cards so needs facelift handles and lock buttons to complete the cosmetic task. Might need the relevant control levers as well, but not a change I have made so can't be certain about the rods... try the handles and lock pins first.
Wrt the wiring... fit face lift rear door looms... the rear door switches will then work with no further action required...
For the front, I would be inclined to leave the earlier centre console. Use the facelift door switches as blanking plates. The only wiring you will need to do will be to modify a tail of loom from the facelift drivers door switch to the mirror switch wiring, but that should be pretty straight forward :y
I would use the drivers switch from a Plod or early facelift GLS as they only have electric front windows so only two switches (plus the mirror controls) so a little less obvious :-\

That was me mis-reading, ".mine are black...will they just swap over" thinking he was intending to 'swap over' his black handles onto the FL doorcards - which isn't doable. Apologies for the misunderstanding. :y

Daft brush, nowt to apologise for :y

Thanks :)
I've often thought about doing the same, actually - fitting FL door cards, and the centre console in my PFL V6... as you gain a very useful folding armrest. Some stuff on the FLs I like, other stuff it was better on the PFL - suppose its like the 'remastered' Star Wars, really! :)
