Title: Army surplus
Post by: Elite Pete on 24 June 2008, 10:44:24
Whats happened to all the army surplus shops? When I was a lad I used to wear ex army pants as they were comfy with loads of room and ideal for working on the car but can't seem to find them anywhere.

The problem is that a lot of army stuff doesnt wear as well as it used to, which is quite deliberate anyway (lighter, more agile, etc) so the 'surplus' part is a bit of a mis-nomer.......

........plenty in the countryside towns and villages but next to none in big cities as their version of going natural is a drive in the Chelsea Tractor to the Farm Shop!  ;D

There is one in Darlington, lots of foreign stuff and new.
There isn't the surpless that there used to be, lack of National Service is my guess, good old army shops went in the 60's  :(
